CONTRIBUTE TO THE FUTURE OF GRSP |
|
Many alumni have expressed an interest in helping guarantee the future of GRSP. The Endowment now stands at $5.5 million. The earnings each year from the Endowment help supplement scholarship funds provided by Georgia Rotary Clubs for new students each year. It is important to continue the growth of the Endowment as the cost of scholarships is ever increasing. With additional income, it will allow GRSP to continue, or increase, the number of students each year by reducing the total scholarship cost to the sponsoring Rotary clubs.
One way is to donate to the GRSP ENDOWMENT FUND.

Thanks to the efforts of M. Ali Chauhan (class of 1992-93) and GRSP Advisory Trustee Kay Knestrick, this dream is becoming a reality. Those of you who knew Maynard Knestrick (1946-2004) know that one of his dreams was to maintain contact with former students. At his death, he was working with several other dedicated Trustees, Alumni and the GRSP Home Office to put together a database of Alumni. Ali and Kay have taken his wish and started the process. We have entered all of the available information from the GRSP Home Office in Savannah into an Alumni database. We have sent emails and post cards to all the addresses we have, to all the countries in an effort to contact every one of the 2847 GRSP ALUMNI. We realize that some of this information is out-dated and hope that you will spread the word among everyone you know that we are making a GIGANTIC EFFORT to reach everyone- PLEASE SIGN In and correct your information. Please help us if you can. If you have information about any other alumni please email or write to Kay or Ali. We know that many of you are in contact with each other and hope that you will each spread the word to come to this website and SIGN IN.

What is the Georgia Rotary Student Program? |
|
Since 1946, Rotarians in Georgia, USA, have promoted world peace through understanding by offering scholarships to international students for one year of study in Georgia colleges and universities. Georgia Rotary Clubs sponsor students recommended by a Rotary Club in their home country. The students become adopted members of a Georgia \"host family,\" but live on-campus at the school they attend. This is a scholarship program, not an exchange! Each year, about 80 students from all over the world make friends in the United States and other nations and learn about differing cultures and life styles. Georgia Rotarians believe \"Peace is Possible\" and through GRSP promote international goodwill through the bonds of friendship and understanding.
